North Korean rocket launched


North Korea launches a long-range rocket in what U.S. and South Korean officials deem a provocative act. While the United States and South Korea confirmed the rocket launch, the payload of the rocket remains unclear. North Korea has said the rocket was to carry a satellite into space, but the U.S., South Korea and other nations fear it could be a missile with a warhead attached.

Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has reportedly given his lover Angelina Jolie the biggest ultimatum ever either marry him or forget him.The ‘Gia’ actress, who is keen to have more kids with Pitt, has been told by him that he will not have anymore kids with her unless she ties the knot with him, reports the ‘China Daily’.Pitt worried that Angelina is spending very little time with him and her kids due to her work. He has even moved to New York's Waldorf Astoria hotel with his six children to be closer to Jolie, who is filming new spy flick 'Salt' there.

Brazilian forest conservationist Silva wins Norway prize

Brazilian senator and former environment minister Marina Silva won Norway's $100,000 Sophie Prize for her work to protect the Amazon rainforest, the prize foundation announced on Wednesday.The Sophie Prize is awarded annually for environmental protection and sustainable development. It was set up in 1997 by Norwegian author Jostein Gaarder and is named after the main character of his book "Sophie's World."Silva, who was environment minister in 2003-2008, clamped down on illegal activity in the forest.

April Fools' computer worm yet to awake

Computer experts on Wednesday watched for an April Fools' Day computer worm to damage millions of infected computers.As many as 10 million PCs are thought to be infected with the worm. In theory, that gives an unknown master computer control of these infected "zombies," allowing the master to push a malicious computer program onto the machines.There have been no reports of problems so far.However, fears that the worm, called Conficker.c, would cause chaos with Windows-based machines worldwide appear to be unfounded.
