Polish president Lech Kaczynski dead in plane crash in Russia


Polish president Lech Kaczynski is dead due to a plane crash earlier Saturday. Kaczynski perished in the crash along with 95 others including Kaczynski's wife and some of the country's top military personnel. There were no reported survivors in the crash which happened due to the dense fog the plane encountered over Russia.Kaczynski, age 60, was on the flight headed to Russia for the 70th anniversary of the massacre of Polish prisoners of war in Katyn. During World War II an estimated 20,000 Polish officers were executed.Today's crash happened around 2:50 AM ET on the outskirts of Pechorsk. According to the Investigation Committe of the Russian prosecutor's office, the plane was trying to land at the airport in Smolensk, in heavy fog conditions. The plane likely hit some trees at the end of the runway according to the Polish Defense Ministry.With the news that the Polish President Lech Kaczynski has died in a plane crash, a list of others who perished in the crash has been released. Other names on the list include Aleksander Szczyglo, the head of the National Security Office; Jerzy Szmajdzinski, the deputy parliament speaker; Andrzej Kremer, the deputy foreign minister; and Gen. Franciszek Gagor, the army chief of staff, according to the party.

SBI PO Exam question papers

The written test for SBI PO Recruitment (2000 RB & 2500 PO) is to take place on April 18th 2010.This is a common test for both the positions, so all candidates irrespective of the applied position, will have the exam on the same date.We have analyzed the pattern, selection process & books of the SBI PO exam.

Process : The selection process is similar to other previous SBI PO recruitment & has the following phases – 1) Written Test (250 marks) 2) GD & Interview (50 marks)

Written Exam – A common written test with a duration of 3 hours, for both posts will be conducted for 250 marks (Objective –200 marks & Descriptive –50 marks). All candidates will take both tests on the same day itself. The Objective test has -

1) Test of English Language 2) Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
3) Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation 4) Test of Reasoning (High Level)

The Descriptive test is for 1 hr & will be evaluated only for candidates who have scored high percent in each objective test & have overall 40%.The qualifying marks for this test 40% (20 marks) is also necessary to proceed to final phase.
GD & Interview : The candidates with high percentile in Written tests will be called for Group Discussion & Interview. Around 7500 candidates for PO & 6000 for PO(RB) can be expected to get a call for interview, as per SBI recruitment notice.Those who secure minimum 40% of the total 50 marks will be considered for Final selection.

Team USA stuns Canada in hockey


On the day before the 30th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice, and donning vintage jerseys to commemorate the U.S.'s 1960 gold medal-winning team, Team USA summoned the powers of history to their side, defeating the mighty Canadian team, 5-3. In the most anticipated match of the back-to-back-to-back hockey extravaganza, dubbed "Super Sunday".It was the first time the two teams played in the Olympic Games since the 2002 gold medal game, when Canada defeated the U.S., 5-2, and the first time the Americans defeated their neighbors in 50 years.
