"Slumdog Millionaire", the rags-to-riches romance set in India that on Sunday won the Oscar for best motion picture. It was nominated for 10 Oscars. Prior to Sunday's award haul of 8, it had scooped up wins at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors' Guild, and the British BAFTA awards.Kate Winslet of Britain was named best actress for her dramatic turn as a former Nazi prison guard who has a love affair with a teenage boy in "The Reader".
